Together they planned it as a good investment,and Solomon Line’s deed to Thomas McCullough proves that the mill was built as early as 1802. Joel Williams found a good turnover for his land in 1797 when he sold to William Bigham and Robert Irwin. The present Dayton Street marks the south boundary of the tract. In 1803,William Bigham and Robert Irwin partitioned the jointly owned land,setting off the 750 acre Bigham farm,on which the stone house was built in 1810. In 1813,Thomas McCullough sold his mill to William Bigham.
