The Alta Heiser Collection Index Vol. 6, Jan. 5, 1956 & Dec. 31, 1959. Miami University in Oxford, Ohio the tuition was reduced to $10 with School Master, Rev. Mr. Hughs. On July 10, 1820 the The Miami Herald newspaper published article stating that there was “unsatisfactory services. There was fewer students and “retrograde progress”. It was suggest that the college be vacated until satisfactory superintendent could be found. The petition was signed by John C. Irwin as prominent Oxford, Warren County, Ohio citizen.
