The Alta Heiser Collection Index Vol. 6. January 5, 1956 & 31 December 1959. Captain Azariah Thorn was well connected in Butler County, Ohio. He is first found here in 1807. In 1810, Azariah Thorn and Nancy Thompson were married by James Mills, Justice of the Peace. Their daughter, Mary Thorn married John Irwin. John and Mary Irwin’s son, Azariah T. Irwin, was born on land the grandfather took 1811. Isaac Thorn Saunders name suggest that there may have been a relation.

The Alta Heiser Collection Index Vol. 6. January 5, 1956 & 31 December 1959. Rossville Proprietor, Captain Azariah Thorn was in Rossville, Butler County, Ohio in 1807. James McBride said that he lived on Lot #9, which is on the East side of Second St., in the lower half of the block below Sycamore. James McBride and Nancy Thompson were married in 1810 by James Mill, a Justice of the Peace. James and Nancy McBride’s daughter, Mary McBride married John Irwin. John and Mary Irwin were James McBride’s heirs in 1832.
