I order the Decree of Dissolution of Marriage of my parents Lee Anton Irwin and Gracie Mae Irwin and found they were married on 5 March 1955 in North Carolina. I remember seeing pictures of them going visiting the Smoky Mountains before they were married and I guess this is when they got married. It has always been a mystery in our family to their marriage date. Now we know. Note: My parent always remain a couple even after their divorce. I think the divorce was for legal reasons pertaining to protecting their property and not because they didn’t love and care for each other.
