Clarkson Freeman deed to James Irwin on 11 June 1796, 534 acres in Range 2, Tract 4, Section 27. Witness by James Thatcher and David Clayton. Transcribed from Hamilton County Records, Book B, No. 2, pages 176, 177, and 178, dated February 9, 1852. D.W. Bone, Depute. This indenture made the eleventh day of June in the year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and ninety six between Clarkson Freeman late of the state of New Jersey of the one part and James Irwin of Hamilton County and Territory of the United States North West of the River Ohio of the other part whereas the said Clarkson Freeman by virtue of an indenture of bargain and sale duly execute under the hand and seals of John Cleves Symmes and Susan his wife for the consideration therein mentioned became lawfully secured in fee of the following described Section or tract of land in the Miami purchase containing Six hundred and forty acres strict measure situate and being in the fourth Township and second entire Range number twenty seven counting East from the Great Miami as by the said Indenture reciting as is therein recited hearing date June the 7th, 1796, relation there unto being had way more fully and at large appear.  Witnessed that the said Clarkson Freeman for and in consideration of the sum of ten hundred and sixty eight dollars ($1,068) to him in hand well and truly paid by the said James Irwin the receipt where of the said Clarkson Freeman an doth hereby acknowledge and thereof and therefore doth clearly acquit exonerate and discharge the said James Irwin his heirs, and assigns forever hath given, granted, bargained, sold aligned, offered, released conveyed and confirmed, and by these present do give, grant, bargain, sell, alien, offered, release, conveyed, confirmed and transferred in the simple unto the said James Irwin and to his heirs and assign forever the full quantity of five hundred and thirty four acres (534 acres) of land it being the above described Section number twenty seven except forfeiture together with all and singular the privileges and improvements to the foresaid five hundred and thirty four acres of land belonging or in anywise appertaining to have and to hold the said five hundred and thirty four acres (534 acres) of land and all and singular the appertaining unto the said James Irwin to the only proper use benefit and behalf of the said James Irwin and to his heirs and assigns forever and the said Clarkson Freeman doth covenant with the said James Irwin and his heirs and assigns that all and singular the foresaid five hundred and thirty four acres (534 acres) of land against all and every lawfully claim and demand whatever unto the said James Irwin and to his heirs and assigns the said Clarkson Freeman doth bind himself his heirs, execrator administrators well and true to Warrant and forever defend by these present.  In witness whereof  the said Clarkson Freeman together with Phebe his wife who herby relinquishes her right of dower in the premises, aforesaid have herein to several set their hand and seals the day and year first above written.  Signed, Sealed and Delivered in the presence of James Thatcher and David Clayton

Recorded June 11, 1796, the sum of ten hundred and sixty eight dollars ($1,068) from James Irwin it being the full consideration money above mentioned in the above indenture, witness by had and seal the day and year above written. Clarkson Freeman. 

Witness present James Thatcher, David Clayton.  Hamilton SS. Be it remembered that on the twenty seventy day of July 1797 before me Thomas Gibson on of the Justices of the Peace of the Court of Common Pleas for the said County personally appeared Clarkson Freeman who acknowledge that within Indenture and signature to be his act and deed. In testimony whereof I have set my hand and seal.  Thomas Gibson.
