Robert L. Owens, the son of Margaret Ann Irwin, grandson of Robert Irwin and Lydia Cox, great-grandson of James and Nancy Irwin. Robert list James Irwin’s parents as William and Nancy Irwin.  This is the first indication or clear evidence that we have regarding the parents of James Irwin born 1758 in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania and died 1847 in Butler County, Pennsylvania.
