In 1797,Joel Williams had sold to William Bingham and Robert Irwin the large tract of land which the mill site joined. It was extended south to the present Dayton Street in Butler County,Ohio. In 1803,Bingham and Irwin made a partition of the jointly owned land settling off the Bingham farm containing 750 acres. A large stone house built in 1810 was the Bingham family home.
