The Alta Heiser Collection Index Vol. 5, January 2, 1952 & December 29, 1955. 25 cents charged for full meal when Turnpike Directors for Butler County, Ohio held their first meeting; Workmen boarded in homes along the Pike. The June and August 1838 meetings were held at Stephen Kendall’s home, where John E. Erwin an Turnpike engineer attended these meetings. Also in April 1848 interest was paid on Turnpike stock held by stockholder, John Irwin.
